Jayanth Gummaraju

Co-Founder & CEO
Jayanth has over a dozen years of experience inventing, leading, and bringing disruptive technologies to market. Prior to Banyan, Jayanth was at VMware where he co-led Instant VMs and Secure Big Data initiatives that had a huge impact on multiple BUs including End-User Computing, ESX Platform, Storage, Networking & Security. Prior to that, he founded Streamware, a MapReduce-on-a-chip startup based on his Ph.D thesis, which was assimilated into AMD's OpenCL product lines. He has over 30 patents and scholarly articles in areas of distributed systems, virtualization, and security. Jayanth received his Ph.D. from Computer Systems Lab. at Stanford working with Prof. Mendel Rosenblum.

Tarun Desikan

Co-Founder & COO
Tarun has extensive experience in product strategy and business execution from nimble startups to global corporations. He was most recently VP of Product at Moovweb, where he help build a leading PaaS for mobile development, migrating 100s of enterprises to modern infrastructure in the Public Cloud. Prior to Moovweb, he was a strategy consultant at the BCG focused on marketing & sales initiatives for Global-1000 IT companies. Tarun was also an early engineer at Infinera (Nasdaq: INFN), developing networking products. Tarun holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India, and an MSEE and MBA from Stanford University.

Yoshio Turner

Co-Founder & Head of Engineering
Yoshio has deep experience in architecting and building reliable, scalable, and secure systems. Prior to founding Banyan, Yoshio was a Principal Research Scientist at HP Labs in the Networking and Mobility Laboratory. Over 15 years at HP Labs, he led projects in the areas of software-defined networking, virtualization, and data center system architecture, resulting in business unit tech transfers, several peer-reviewed publications and presentations at top venues, and over 30 granted patents. Yoshio received Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science, and B.S. summa cum laude in Computer Science & Engineering, all from UCLA.

Jacob Lee

Head of Sales
As Head of Global Sales, Jacob is responsible for leading and scaling the global sales organization, business development and channel go-to-market program for Banyan. Jacob is a 15 year veteran of the enterprise software industry with a proven track record of success exceeding revenue goals and introducing next-generation cybersecurity, cloud and SaaS solutions to market. Jacob's previous tenure includes roles at Okta, Cisco Systems and Tidal Software.

Ashish Gupta

Head of Marketing
Ashish over the past two decades in senior marketing leadership roles has launched new companies to market creating new market categories with several successful exits from IPO to acquisitions. With a career that has seen him lead product and marketing teams from components, security systems, to core infrastructure technologies targeting the enterprise markets of all sizes and verticals, Ashish has a breath of knowledge of the GTM process at all stages of the company evolution. Ashish holds a BSEE from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as an MSEE from SJSU and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
